After a meeting that has been recorded or transcribed with Krisp, participants will now see a straightforward “Invite to collaborate” option. There’s no need to update the app, simply click this button on the Meetings page after the meeting to start collaborating seamlessly.

]]>The post Improving Communication with Krisp’s Talk Time appeared first on Krisp.
]]>But the current office as we know it clearly needs to adapt to the hybrid model–with more than 95 percent of workers believing that the top challenge of hybrid work is the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with those in and out of the office.
While working from home has created many advantages for employees and employers, it also has created fears that employees working from home will be excluded in meetings and treated differently from employees working in the office.
So what’s the solution?
Having the right technology in place plays a critical role in reducing these concerns. In fact, 97 percent of surveyed workers maintain that new features and capabilities will make them feel more included. In addition, 57 percent believe it is vital to ensure that all meeting participants have an opportunity to speak and contribute in every meeting.
And that’s where Krisp’s Talk Time comes in.
This newly-released feature allows users to visually keep track of how much time they spend talking in relation to other participants on a call. Talk Time not only gives users the ability to understand their own presence in virtual meetings, but it makes room for more inclusive conversations by indicating what percentage of the meeting time they spent speaking.
For example, the Talk Time feature helps encourage talkative employees to be more mindful about dominating the discussion and potentially excluding others from the conversation. Additionally, it gives less assertive team members a gentle nudge to speak up and make their voices and ideas heard. And for managers looking to boost engagement and collaboration across their dispersed teams, it can be an effective way to ensure that employees do not fall into the rut of hiding during virtual meetings. This is especially important at a time when all of us are experiencing burnout from non-stop online meetings.
Simply put, the benefits of Talk Time in today’s working world are immeasurable. They include:
With hybrid work becoming the norm, the traditional ways that businesses have been operating needs to change. And this change begins with improved communication and collaboration between those in and out of the office.

]]>The post Improve Virtual Meetings with Krisp’s Call Summary Report appeared first on Krisp.
]]>But what’s the best way to achieve this?
There are numerous ways–including speaking in an authoritative manner, projecting an executive presence, getting your voice heard, avoiding uptalk, slowing the pace, enunciating your words, and pausing for impact.
While many people struggle with these tactics, one of the most effective ways to improve your communication skills is to actually see, measure, and monitor your personal meeting habits. And that’s where Krisp’s long-awaited Call Summary Report feature comes in handy.
Available to all users beginning on April 18, 2022, this new feature provides users with extremely helpful insights every time they finish a meeting. With this detailed information, users are able to understand and assess their performance after each call.
In addition, by displaying exactly how much noise is removed by Krisp, users gain a better understanding of the value of Noise Cancellation for their calls, as well as the positive impact this has on virtual meeting effectiveness.
The specific insights tracked include the following:
The new feature also tracks whether or not users are clearly heard in the meeting–based on if Krisp is turned on, partially on, or completely turned off.
Virtual meetings are most successful when everyone is engaged in the discussion and has the opportunity to make strong, meaningful contributions. The key is uncovering your communication weaknesses and learning how to strengthen your meeting habits.

]]>The post Say ‘Goodbye’ to Competing Voices with Krisp Voice Cancellation appeared first on Krisp.
]]>Depending on the nature of your conversations, however, sometimes you only have a matter of minutes to capture the listener’s attention and make a good impression. Anything getting in the way of that can damage your and your business’s or brand’s credibility in an instant. And while Krisp AI-powered noise cancellation can filter out distracting background noises bi-directionally (aka, from both ends of the line of an online call) with a single click, getting rid of pesky background voices has been a bit more of a challenge to overcome. That is, until now.
In addition to weeding out distracting background noises—like barking dogs, crying babies, ringing phones, and the like—you can now personalize the Krisp app to recognize the pitch of your voice. This makes it possible for the app to block out other competing voices—in different pitch categories from your own—from being heard by whoever is on the other end of the line.
Long story short: Krisp’s new—and dare we say, game-changing—Voice Cancellation feature will transform your online calls and meetings forever. Here’s why this is such a big deal:
Krisp Voice Cancellation works by recognizing your voice’s pitch. As a starting point, we’ve used advanced AI to create three different pitch categories—low, medium, and high. When you set up Voice Cancellation within your Krisp app, you’ll be asked to do a little bit of speaking so the app can capture your voice’s pitch and, as a result, be able to separate it from other voices in different pitch categories.
Once set up, you’ll be able to toggle the Voice Cancellation feature “on” and “off.” While you’ll likely be the primary speaker in the majority of the online calls you make from your computer, there will be times when multiple people may be sitting in the same conference room together, for example, and need to participate in a call. So to ensure that all participants can still chime in without compromising Krisp’s other noise-canceling superpowers, we decided to give this feature an on-and-off switch. This is the key benefit to filtering out competing voices separately from room acoustics or other background noises.
Keep in mind: There are some minor limitations with this ground-breaking technology, including the potential for background voices of the same “pitch category” as the primary speaker’s voice to seep through from time to time. We are already working on future iterations of Krisp Voice Cancellation to categorize voice types beyond the feature’s current high-medium-low pitch spectrum—all in an effort to personalize the Krisp experience to each and every user. That being said, this feature is just too cool to keep a secret, so we wanted to give you an exclusive opportunity to try it out immediately as early adopters.
Krisp Voice Cancellation is currently available for Windows users only. The feature will be made available to Mac users in early 2022 (sorry for keeping you all hanging!).
Setting it up is quick and easy and, once completed, can be activated immediately to make sure your voice is heard loud and clear at all times. Just follow these 5 simple steps to get started.
The magic of Krisp lies in the noise-proofing layer we’ve created between you and your device’s microphone and speaker—whether it’s a computer or a connected headset—to stop unwanted noise from seeping through and disrupting your conversations. This has already been a lifesaver for anyone who’s had to work from home during the pandemic or recently return to work in a noisy office. Virtually no noise imaginable stands a chance against Krisp!
Adding the revolutionary ability to remove competing background voices is only the next step in making Krisp your trusted companion for every online call you take or meeting you make.

]]>The post Krisp Audio: Optimized Performance on M1 Macs appeared first on Krisp.
]]>‘Performance’ is the word that stands out the most when talking about Apple’s M1 chip. Unlike other chips in the market today, Apple touts the M1 as a “System on a Chip” that essentially powers all aspects of Mac devices, including the:
As opposed to past Mac devices where different chips powered different functions, by integrating performance into a single chip, the M1 is able to be faster and more efficient than previous Intel chips. But the benefits go beyond that. The chip’s unified memory architecture (RAM) makes it possible for all device features to access the same data in one place – versus having to copy data across multiple processors. This is single handedly the biggest contributor to the M1 chip’s speed, efficiency, and performance improvements.
To learn more, check out MacRumors’s deep dive into the ins and outs of the Apple M1 chip.
If you purchased a Mac device powered by an M1 chip, your goal was likely to get the most power and performance out of every single app that runs on your machine.
The good news for you: The latest release of the Krisp app now supports Krisp Audio* natively on the M1 chip. What does this mean? Glad you asked. This major performance upgrade enables Krisp to tap into the M1 chip’s power for audio processing. This translates into more efficient operations, extended battery life, and optimized CPU usage on all M1 Macs.
Compared to the previous version of Krisp, you’ll now get up to:
In other words, you’ll notice a big improvement immediately. So if you haven’t updated your Krisp app to the latest version yet, be sure to do it now. It’s super easy:
*Native M1 chip support for Krisp Video coming soon.
Our number one priority at Krisp is to ensure that every single online call you make or meeting you take is free from disruptive or distracting background noise, so the end result is crystal clear audio quality every time. And because Krisp’s “virtual microphone and speaker app” offers cutting-edge, bi-directional noise cancellation powered by the most advanced AI, it means that any noises from your end won’t disrupt your call, nor will background noise from the other speakers on the line get in the way either. It’s basically our version of magic.
The latest release of the Krisp app with native audio support for all Mac devices powered by the M1 chip is just one (of many) ways we’re living up to this promise.

]]>The post What’s New in Krisp: Important Updates and Improvements appeared first on Krisp.
]]>In the past, the Krisp speaker would automatically eliminate useful in-app sounds, like the notification you hear when someone new joins a Zoom call, or the “beep” that a new voicemail or chat message makes when it’s received. Now, the default in-app sounds or ringtones will pass through the Krisp speaker.
You can enjoy all the cool features of Krisp Pro for free for up to 6 months when your first 3 friends join Krisp through your referral link. For every friend who accepts your invitation and joins Krisp, you will gift them a whole month of free Krisp Pro. What’s better than having productive online meetings all together?
Remember when you had to manually switch to Krisp microphone to set up everything before your call? Not anymore. You can also enjoy Krisp’s noise and echo cancellation on apps that don’t allow changing audio devices, such as Voice Memos, Garage Band, Facetime calls and so on. This works for all the team and enterprise accounts as well, making Krisp microphone a default device as soon as the app is installed for all the team members.
We know you wanted this for a long time, so we’ve made it happen. You can now download all of your recordings directly from your Krisp account and keep them all locally on your device anytime you want. You can also easily rename all of your recordings to keep them up-to-date.
There’s no need to go through the app Preferences every single time you need to change settings for both of those features. All you have to do now is click on the icons and the settings will pop right up, allowing you to change it even during your call.
We have worked hard to make sure you have a smooth experience with Krisp’s virtual background, so you’ll notice some positive changes in the virtual background selection process and memory consumption when the virtual background is in use. The UI bugs on Mac mini are all fixed up as well.
Another good news: Facetime crash caused by Krisp camera when using Microsoft Teams and Skype won’t happen again.
We fixed the audio repetition that was caused by sharing your screen along with system audio on Webex and MS Teams. Now you can have productive screen sharing sessions without worrying that others hear your system audio twice.
We’ve updated the onboarding flow so that you can have a simpler and faster setup flow for Krisp. Krisp also consumes less than 2-3% of the CPU when not in use and running in the background. And most importantly, we’ve added support of Big Sur 11.5 Beta and Monterey Beta.
Ever since we’ve added Krisp state icons, it’s been difficult to tell if there’s something wrong with the setup when the app is in use. We have added tooltips to the state icons so that you can always know when you need to take action.
We’ve fixed the issue where your microphone volume would unintentionally change and make it difficult to be heard by other call participants. Now your audio will be heard by everyone crystal clear.
As for the more technical bugs and UI improvements, all the newly connected devices are now loading faster. The onboarding flow has been improved. It’s also easier to locate the Voice quality section since we’ve moved it from the Advanced menu to the general preferences. Lastly, the floating widget will no longer show up in the wrong position right after installing the app.
The admins can now disable the options for Contact Support and Report a problem in the admin dashboard. This will help you have more controlled enterprise support flows. This was previously available only to admins on Windows devices, but now Mac users can also take advantage of this option.
All the team admins can disable welcome emails so that newly joined team members don’t get any notifications. Also, since we know that the invitation expires within 7 days, we’ve made sure that you can see the last sent invitation date for each team member to know when to re-send it. And finally, we have added an activity section on your team dashboard to help you track how actively your team members use Krisp.
We hope that all these updates and improvements will make your Krisp experience that much crispier. We are determined to help you become the ultimate online communicator, so your feedback is always important for us. If you have any, drop it in the comments or reach out to us via [email protected] and we will be happy to hear you out!
We’re working on bringing you even more exciting news, so stay tuned!

]]>The post New in Krisp: Remove Visual Distractions with Virtual Backgrounds appeared first on Krisp.
]]>And since effectively removing audio distractions is what we are most known for, it only made sense to create a solution for easily eliminating visual distractions too, allowing for a fully immersive experience during your online meetings!
With our new feature, Virtual Backgrounds, you can sound and look professional on almost any communication app—even ones that don’t have a built-in virtual background option. It’s currently available in beta for Mac users (Windows is coming soon!).
With the click of a button, Krisp Virtual Backgrounds lets you:
You no longer have to worry about tidying your office or shooing your family members out of view—Virtual Background hides it all for you.
We’re providing early access to Mac users (coming soon to Windows, too!). This beta version of Krisp Virtual Background is available for free on both Krisp Personal and Team accounts, with no time limits. You can use it on desktop and web apps, as long as they let you select which camera to use.
To access Virtual Background, update to the latest version of Krisp. You can do this by opening Krisp and checking for the “Update available” notification. When you find it, click “Install.”
Did you update Krisp? Great! Here’s how to set up Virtual Background.
You can use Krisp Virtual Background with any communication app that has dedicated video settings and allows you to select which camera to use. You can also use it in different apps at the same time.
For Virtual Background to work, you must set it up on both Krisp and your communication app (e.g., Zoom, Teams, Skype, etc.).
1. Click on the Video tab of Krisp. Then, pick the physical camera you want to use during calls.
2. Allow Krisp to access your camera by clicking on “Allow access.”
3. When the system settings window pops up, click “OK.”
1. Restart the desktop app or the browser where a web app will be used. This is so the Krisp Camera appears in the available cameras list.
2. Go to the video settings of the app and choose “Krisp Camera” as the camera. See the example with the Zoom app settings below:
Now, the image you choose in Krisp will be shown as your background in your chosen communication app during video calls.
NOTE: Why the Krisp Logo Looks Flipped
Many video conferencing apps “mirror” your video preview to make it easier on your eyes. That means the video you see of yourself is flipped horizontally, which is why the Krisp logo looks backwards to you. But don’t worry! Your meeting attendees see the unflipped version of your video—so the logo looks normal to them.
Use the images included in Krisp or upload your own as a virtual background. There’s no limit on the number of images you upload. Within Krisp, you can try out different backgrounds beforehand to ensure you feel confident before starting the call with it.
To upload your own image, click on “+ ADD IMAGE” and choose a .png, .jpg, or .gif file from your computer. The uploaded image will automatically be set as your background. To change it, click on any other image.
Don’t want to use an image ever again? Just click the “X” icon and confirm the deletion.
The virtual backgrounds in Krisp are available for all Krisp Personal, Personal Pro, Teams, and Enterprise accounts. There are no time limitations or extra costs for this feature.
The virtual backgrounds work with both desktop and web video conferencing apps. These will be extra useful if you’re using a teleconferencing tool that doesn’t have integrated background images. The Krisp Camera works with any platform that lets you change cameras so you can keep the same background image even when you unexpectedly have to switch tools.

Make sure you have Krisp version 1.23.6 or higher on Mac for this feature to work.
